DB99 took place in Bishopsgate Goodsyard, a row of vast Victorian railway arches off brick lane and continued to introduce the best new work from Europe to an international and UK audience. The cave like architecture provided a startling setting for Michael Young’s stick light installation for Eurolounge, Tord Boontje had his first show since graduating from the RCA. Asplund returned, David Design launched to a UK audience. Also from Sweden we had Ung Svensk Form a group of 20 designers from Sweden curated by Svenskform. Jerszy Seymour showed furniture for Nicehouse and Hella Jongerius showed her chocolate urns and vases.
